Template showcase: Local Government Newsletter
In this edition of our template showcase we are looking at design created with local government in mind that includes some interesting design features to add interest to an action-orientated mid-length newsletter style format.
Why we love this template:
"This is a clean, minimalistic template that clearly conveys the required information. And through the use of text sizes and headings the hierarchy of importance of information is clear. This is slightly unusual for a newsletter style template to only have a single call to action - but for news broadcast type communications where they may be little possibility to linking back to a website this template would be ideal"
"This template makes great use of anchor tags - which puts the reader in complete control and can easily skip to the content that they want to engage with. The use of headings is also very beneficial for those with additional accessibility requirements as these are recognised and used by screen reading technology."
“This is a great template for a newsletter, particularly when there is more to tell than to gather response. The call to action is key here though as this is the interaction that will give you the engagement results that you want to see. This is a really effective template that is quick to update and shows that you are putting your audiences interests above your own - allowing them to effectively select what they want to read - with total ease”
Considerations when making it your own
The image in this template is a supporting aspect and for those who have images disabled they will be able to easily engage - so don't let the image take over.
As this email is focused on readability don't forget alt text with the image and to make the anchor text links a the top clear and obvious - as you only have a few words to push people to the articles they link to. Also, test, test and test again to ensure that the anchor tags are working properly and that your hierarchy of information is reflected with you heading use and ordering within the email.
This is not our only Local Government style newsletter template. We also have
