Basic personalisation
Basic personalisation can be easily achieved by using data held in any of your data fields, whether a standard field or a custom data point and these small elements of personalisation all help to make the email that bit more relevant, and therefore engaging, to the recipient.

Record a range of values against each contact to improve your segmentation and targeting. You can also limit field values to predefined data types or picklists and expose this data to subscribers via a Preference Centre.
Dynamic sender details
Tailoring the sender alias to a name your recipient recognises, for example their account manager or main organisational contact, is another way to increase engagement. With e-shot you can save a principle contact name and contact address as a custom field which can be used as a dynamic sender alias.
