Enabling automatic image download by default in Microsoft 365 / Exchange Online / Outlook

Enabling automatic image download by default in Microsoft 365 / Exchange Online / Outlook

Depending on how your internal IT and email security policies are configured, the default behavior of your email client may be to block the automatic download of images from 3rd party senders. This is not a restriction or setting applied on e-shot, it is due to the way your organisation has been configured to receive emails in general, which will include those from e-shot.

Often, users can enable downloading images for any particular email, or they can add the sending domain to their own ‘Safe senders’ list for their individual inbox, so that images are automatically downloaded in future emails.

To allow automatic image downloads on an individual basis for their own inbox, users can follow this guide from Microsoft

However, you may not want your users to have to manually allow/enable this themselves each time they receive an email from e-shot and would rather that the images automatically downloaded by default each time at an organisational level. If your organisation uses Microsoft 365 (Outlook) to receive emails, your IT team can review this guide from Microsoft to add your e-shot sending domain to the ‘Safe senders list’ for all users.

If the domain has been added to your organization ‘Safe Senders’ list, and the images are still not downloading automatically for your users, please contact our support team.
