Email accessibility checklist

Email accessibility checklist

According to the World Health Organization, 2.2 billion people worldwide live with some form of visual impairment, with approximately 39 million people worldwide who are blind. In the UK specifically, around one in 30 people live with sight loss (~2million people).

Additionally, many people are colour blind. The most common form of colour blindness (red-green,  also known as protanopia) occurs in ~1 out of every 12 males and ~1 out of every 200 females.

There are many forms of assistive technology available to help those who have been affected by sight loss. However, aside from these specific technologies, email developers and marketers can further assist these users by making emails more accessible with a few code and design adjustments.

By using our Accessibility checklist, you can easily review your email for these important, but basic, accessibility elements and adjust your code instantly to make your email more accessible not just to those with visual impairments but also other members of your audience who also would benefit from accessibility adjustments.
