Postman API introduction

Postman API introduction

APIs make it easy to efficiently share data and processes. The e-shot API confirms to the Open API specification v3, providing a self-documenting API that can easily be used to construct and test API calls.  Everything you can do in our user interface has a programmatic equivalent.

Our goal with the new Postman orientated documentation, is to make it more helpful and easier to use by providing more clarity, better examples and more detail in general.

The e-shot API is organised around REST and has predictable resource-oriented URLs, accepts JSON request bodies, returns JSON-encoded responses, and uses standard HTTP response codes, authentication, and verbs. The API is monitored 24/7/365 and protected by Intrusion Detection and Prevention systems. All data is encrypted using SSL and TLS enforced connectivity.

The REST API adheres to the OData standard for reads with all requests to write data carried out by making specifically defined POST, PUT, PATCH or DELETE requests.  It can be used to manage Contacts, Groups, Preference subscriptions, message Designs, Campaigns, Reports and Website interactions.

The new Postman documentation can be accessed here.
