Avoiding the tick box: how to build trust and meaningful engagement with residents

Avoiding the tick box: how to build trust and meaningful engagement with residents

Why this matters now

The Regulator of Social Housing now places greater emphasis on how well landlords listen to and act on resident feedback. Tenant voices are expected to influence services, shape priorities and drive real improvements. Many organisations are going through their first inspections under the new Consumer Standards.

Meaningful engagement is hard to get right. Too often it becomes a tick-box exercise that hears from the same few residents and does little to build trust.

This round table brings peers together for an open, honest conversation about what’s working, what isn’t, and how to reach the residents you rarely hear from.
